This little house faces La Roque Gageac - designated 'one of the prettiest villages in France'. It is perched on the Dordogne River 400 meters / 5 minute walk from the village. Or walk down river 2 mins walk to the nearest Canoe hire , riverside cafe and 'beach', or a 10 min cycle to breathtaking Castelnaud.
The lounge opens onto a covered terrace overlooking the river. It has a dining table at one end.
The kitchen is well-equipped with a 4 ring electric cooker, microwave, fridge-freezer, clothes washing machine and dishwasher. You'll find dining furniture on both the terraces and there's a barbecue on the roof terrace.
The house remains a beautifully cool paradise to escape to in the height of a sunny day.

Pirates is a great place to hire kayak launch your own paddle board.
Beach atmosphere plenty of space for everybody, with areas of shade, somewhere to buy an ice cream, a drink, a snack or a meal.
This shot is Panoramic and so bends the river somewhat but it shows the café in the middle, the Château far right, and the shady trees far left.
In addition to the burger and chips you would expect, pirates also offers quite sophisticated plat du jour.
A lovely place to sit, eat and drink. Many locals flock here and reserve a table for a waterfront evening dinner party.
Pirates has an inlet protected from the current. A much more natural and inspiring environment than a chlorinated pool.
The River is very safe for all levels of swimmers. Experts enjoy swimming up against the current. Adventurers jump in upriver and float swim down in the refreshing, cool, clear waters.
Nearby Bambousie cafe offers cocktails and nibbles in the shade of bamboo gardens.
Local walks with wonderful views and intriguing historical discoveries abound.
The famous town of Sarlat is only 5 miles away. The 'must see' attractions of Castelnaud, Beynac, Domme and Marqueyssac are even closer. The village itself has lots of lovely cafes and restaurants, gift and wine shops. The river is only a short stroll away so there's no shortage of places to swim and picnic. Canoe hire and boat trips are available from the village and there's a wealth of beautiful walks and cycle routes on the doorstep.

The gardens of Marqueyssac are just above the house. A beautiful walk in the gardens can be accompanied by a fabulous salad and cocktail. Climbing the rock face is thrown in free for the adventurous visitors.
On Thursday nights (in high season) they throw a candlelit party with several live bands, stilt walkers and craft activities for little ones.
